After working with onsite offshore model for 2 years, i have few points to share.

Pros

• Cost saving - Use resource from developing country to serve develop country.
• 24 by 7 service - Resources from around the world enable company to operate 24 by 7.
• Global exposure - Global exposure for associates from the company as well as clients.
  

Cons

• Intense communication needed - Resources from around the world may not have a common understanding of the projects.
• Define proper process flow - A proper process flow must be defined and followed by all everyone in the project.
• More expenses on the communication - Phone, Internet, VPN and etc.
• Politics among onsite and offshore associates are common.
• Offshore associates performance are normally neglected by onsite management.
